Now in it's 6th year, Dunkeld has proved massively popular with riders. The tracks main features are the steep top section and natural rock gardens. When you cross the line there is certainly a feeling of accomplishment. This is the only track in the series which has a seperate start for the juveniles, the top section is deemed to be a little too steep for young novice riders so they will start at the forestry road, it still gives them a great track to race on though! Directions: The Race is situated just off the A9 at a venue called the Hermitage which is 1 mile north of Dunkeld. There will be SDA signs to guide you to the entrance. As you turn in there is a forest road which is a gentle climb to your right, follow this for approx. 500 yards as it leads you straight to the Race Car Park. Camping: The Dunkeld venue has a field as a car park, you will be able to camp in this field, please allow for all the car parking though. Accomodation: There are some B&B's at Birnham which is a mile away, however Perth is only 14 miles away which has all the amenities of a large town. The best place to try for accommodation is http://www.visitscotland.com. The race finish area is approx. 800 yards from the car park, with uplift approx. 400 yards, Juveniles will have a large van for uplift, this is only for juveniles as it takes them to the Juvenile start. Conversely, juveniles must not get on the cattle lorries, they will not stop to let you off! Looking forward to seeing you there! |
